President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. grew emotional as he condemned the injustice faced by “good and hardworking Filipinos” while others allegedly profit through corrupt practices.
In a teaser for the fourth episode of his podcast released Saturday night, Marcos expressed frustration over illegal activities that hurt ordinary citizens.
“I see people having a hard time. And they don’t deserve it. Mabuti mga kung masamang tao ‘yan. Dapat parusahan. Hindi naman eh,” Marcos said. “Walang ginawa ‘yan kundi magtrabaho, kundi mahalin ang pamilya. Ba’t mo paparusahan? Para magpayaman ka? That makes no sense to me.”
The statement comes amid ongoing investigations into alleged irregularities in government projects, including ghost flood control structures.
Marcos has ordered a “sweeping” review of the proposed 2026 budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to ensure there are no double entries or unauthorized fund insertions.
