Pasig City drug bust yields shabu worth P1M, suspect arrested

A buy-bust operation conducted by the Eastern Police District (EPD) early Sunday morning resulted in the seizure of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, with an estimated street value of P1.02 million.

Authorities on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of a 22-year-old male, identified only as “Lester,” during the anti-narcotics operation carried out in Barangay Pinagbuhatan. According to a statement released by the EPD, the suspect was immediately apprehended after a poseur-buyer successfully completed a drug transaction.

The police recovered 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 150 grams in total.

Other evidence confiscated at the scene included a P1,000 genuine marked bill, seven P1,000 fake bills used as boodle money in the sting, and a black belt bag.

The suspect is currently held at the Pasig City Custodial Facility and is set to face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office. The seized contraband has been turned over to the EPD Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
