Paper Rex’s (PRX) run at VALORANT Champions Paris ended in fourth place after being defeated by fellow VCT Pacific squad DRX in the lower bracket semifinals. This marks PRX’s second-best finish in the Champions Tour, following their runner-up spot in Champions Los Angeles 2023.
On the map Ascent, PRX started strong, leading 9-3 at halftime. However, DRX mounted a comeback in the second half, forcing overtime and eventually winning 15-13.
In the following map, Lotus, PRX initially led 7-5 but DRX maintained momentum and secured a 13-8 victory despite late efforts from PRX’s Wang “Jinggg” Jie.
With this win, DRX advances to the lower bracket finals for a rematch against VCT EMEA’s FNATIC. The winner will face VCT Americas’ NRG in the grand finals.
PRX’s 2025 season highlights include their first international trophy at Masters Toronto in June and reclaiming the VCT Pacific title in Stage 2.
Notably, Filipino rookie Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza made history as the first Filipino VALORANT player to win a VCT title internationally and regionally, surpassing the previous record held by the all-Filipino team Team Secret.
