MANILA – Malacañang on Wednesday belied reports that Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda has resigned, saying he continues to fulfil his duty as part of the Cabinet.
In a media briefing in Singapore, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said she had just spoken with Aguda, who personally said he was continuing to perform his duties as DICT chief.
“Wala pong ganung impormasyon dahil kakakausap lang natin kay (There is no such information because we just spoke with) Secretary Henry Aguda,” Castro said.
Castro’s remarks came after reports circulated claiming that Aguda had stepped down from his post.
Aguda has also denied the reports, effectively putting to rest speculation over a change in leadership at the agency.
