Moderate to heavy rains are expected to drench parts of Luzon on Saturday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 2:10 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned of rain showers with lightning and strong winds within the next two hours.
Pagasa said Quezon province is among the areas forecast to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
Several towns and cities in Laguna, including San Pablo, Santa Cruz, Los Baños, and Bay, are also expected to be affected.
Other Laguna areas placed under the advisory include Liliw, Nagcarlan, Majayjay, Pagsanjan, Siniloan, and nearby municipalities.
In Rizal province, Pagasa listed Tanay, Jala-Jala, and Pililla as areas likely to experience thunderstorms.
Parts of Batangas, including Batangas City, Lipa, San Juan, Santo Tomas, and Rosario, are also under the weather advisory.
Other Batangas towns such as Ibaan, Malvar, Balete, Mataasnakahoy, and San Jose may likewise experience heavy rains.
Pagasa advised residents in affected areas to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides.
The weather bureau earlier said the northeast monsoon, or amihan, and the shear line are currently affecting weather conditions over Luzon.
