Parts of Southern Luzon and the Visayas are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains as a shear line affects the region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday.

In its latest bulletin, Pagasa said Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon are likely to see intermittent rain and thunderstorms, with possible flooding and landslides in hazard-prone areas.

Mindanao and the rest of Mimaropa are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and most of Luzon will experience generally fair weather, with occasional light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Moderate to strong northeasterly winds are expected to prevail over Luzon and the Visayas, bringing moderate to rough seas with wave heights of up to three meters.

In Mindanao, winds are forecast to remain light to moderate, while coastal waters are expected to stay slight to moderate, with waves reaching up to 2.5 meters.

The weather bureau advised small seacraft operators and fishermen to exercise caution, especially in areas where sea conditions may become rough.
