Pagadian, Pampanga ops net P3.8-M fake seasonings

Police arrested two suspects and seized Php 3.83 million worth of alleged counterfeit food seasoning products in separate operations in Zamboanga del Sur and Pampanga.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the operations were carried out on June 5 in Pagadian City and on June 10 in Guagua, Pampanga.

In Pagadian City, CIDG operatives and a private partner company conducted a buy-bust in Barangay Bulatok.

Police arrested a Chinese woman identified only as Lin for allegedly selling and distributing counterfeit seasoning products.

Authorities seized 728 boxes of suspected fake food items worth Php 3.458 million.

In Guagua, Pampanga, the CIDG Anti-Organized Crime Unit and a private partner company conducted another operation in Barangay Siran.

Police arrested a businesswoman identified only as Lyn and confiscated 87 boxes of suspected trademark-infringing food seasoning products worth Php 374,100.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said the operations formed part of the police campaign to protect consumers, support legitimate businesses, and stop the sale of unsafe counterfeit goods.
