LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The Pag-IBIG Fund has increased its loan limits and strengthened its housing, savings, and digital services to provide members with greater financial assistance and more opportunities for homeownership.
During the Kapihan sa PIA Quezon on September 23, 2026, Pag-IBIG Fund Lucena Branch Marketing Head Marifen Mercado and Member Services Officer II Derrick Dela Peña discussed improvements to the agency’s short-term loans, housing financing, MP2 Savings Program, and online services.
Under the enhanced Short-Term Loan Program, qualified members may now borrow up to 90 percent of their total savings, higher than the previous 80 percent.
Mercado said the adjustment would particularly benefit long-time members who have accumulated substantial savings.
Eligible borrowers may also renew their loans after six months, provided they have completed at least four months of payments on their existing loans.
Meanwhile, Pag-IBIG has raised its maximum housing loan amount from Php 6 million to Php 10 million, allowing qualified members to access higher financing for purchasing residential properties, constructing homes, making improvements, or acquiring townhouses and condominium units.
The agency continues to offer socialized and regular housing programs to accommodate members from different income groups.
Pag-IBIG is also expanding its digital services through Virtual Pag-IBIG, which enables members to check their records, register for membership, enroll in MP2 Savings, and pay contributions and loans without visiting a branch.
The agency is preparing to expand online payment services by 2027 and is encouraging both members and employers to use its digital platform.
For savings, the MP2 Savings Program remains available with a minimum contribution of Php 500. Members may make voluntary deposits and choose between annual dividend payouts or compounded earnings upon the program’s five-year maturity.
As of August 2026, Pag-IBIG Fund recorded 117,730 members in Quezon province.
Mercado encouraged workers to maintain regular contributions and maximize the agency’s financial programs, emphasizing that combined employee and employer savings can provide substantial long-term benefits.
She said consistent savings and responsible borrowing can help members build financial security and achieve their homeownership goals.
