MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) confiscated 812 grams of suspected shabu worth over PHP5.5 million and firearms from a police officer in Mapandan, Pangasinan.
In a statement, the PDEA Ilocos regional office said the joint team served the search warrant issued by Dagupan City Regional Trial Court for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against the suspect at his residence in Barangay Aserdan, Mapandan, Pangasinan on Tuesday.
Law enforcers discovered and confiscated suspected shabu contained in knot-tied plastic bags and other drug paraphernalia from the suspect’s residence.
Authorities also confiscated firearms of various caliber and ammunitions during the operation.
“This successful high-impact operation demonstrates that PDEA Ilocos Region, makes no distinctions or exceptions in enforcing the law. Badge or no badge, active public servants who betray the public trust to engage in the illegal drug trade will be tracked down, apprehended, and made to face the full force of the law,” said PDEA Ilocos regional director Julius Paderes.
He said neutralizing a supply source of shabu and confiscating illegal firearms directly dismantles a major threat to the communities in Pangasinan.
The arrested suspect is currently under PDEA custody and faces criminal charges. (Hilda Austria/PNA)
