Anti-drug operatives seized P3.4 million worth of crystal meth (shabu) and arrested two individuals during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sta. Arcadia on Wednesday morning.
Col. Ferdinand Germino, director of the Nueva Ecija Police, said officers from the Cabanatuan City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended the suspects after an undercover agent purchased one sachet of shabu from them.
The suspects, a 47-year-old woman from Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija, and a 42-year-old man from Cabanatuan City, were found in possession of additional drugs during a search.
Authorities recovered seven more sachets of shabu, weighing about 350 grams, from the woman, while the man had a knot-tied plastic bag containing approximately 100 grams of the substance, Germino added.
In total, law enforcers seized around 500 grams of crystal meth.
The suspects are facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
