LAPU-LAPU CITY – A socialized housing project valued at PHP 230 million is set to benefit 200 families in this city, as announced by the mayor on Tuesday.
Mayor Junard Ahong Chan stated that each unit within the five-story housing development will have an area of 24 square meters.
“The funds are already secured, and the property has been donated. Consequently, we are prepared to proceed with the project immediately,” Chan conveyed to the Philippine News Agency, adding that the initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
Chan further mentioned that Johndorf Ventures Corporation, a private real estate firm, has generously donated a two-hectare lot located in Barangay Calawisan.
In addition, another housing project in Barangay Canjulao is anticipated to commence shortly.
The mayor indicated that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources has required the local government to officially declare the tax declaration of the 25-hectare area under its jurisdiction.
On March 25, 2003, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, through Proclamation No. 346, designated the 25-hectare area as an urban development and socialized housing site.
