More than 2,000 children aged 6 to 16 participated in the first-ever Quezon City Takbulilit 2026, a fun-filled running event held around the Quezon City Hall grounds to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among young residents.

The participating children took part in either the 1.5-kilometer or 3-kilometer running routes. Those who successfully completed the race received finisher’s medals and loot bags containing tumblers and vitamins as rewards for their participation.

The event also featured parlor games, where children had the opportunity to win fresh fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious food items.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte joined the activity alongside Danish Ambassador Franz-Michael Mellbin, Novo Nordisk General Manager Wei Sun, and various department heads of the local government.

The Quezon City Takbulilit 2026 aims to encourage children to become more physically active, reduce their screen time, and spend more time playing and interacting with other children.

The activity is part of the city’s efforts to prevent and address childhood obesity by promoting physical fitness, healthy eating habits, and active lifestyles among the younger generation.
