More than 135,000 students from various parts of the country are expected to take the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College Entrance Test (PUPCET) for the academic year 2026–2027, underscoring the university’s continued appeal as one of the country’s leading state institutions.

The projected surge in applicants once again highlights the strong reputation of Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) as a top choice for students seeking accessible, inclusive, and quality higher education. The university remains widely recognized as a major source of skilled and competitive graduates who go on to contribute to key industries both in the Philippines and overseas.

PUP President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi said the large number of aspiring examinees reflects the sustained trust and confidence of Filipino students in the institution.

“This is clear proof that students continue to choose PUP because of the affordable, inclusive, and high-quality education it provides,” Muhi said, noting that the university’s mission of public service and academic excellence remains at the core of its growing popularity.

For the Sta. Mesa Campus in Manila, entrance examinations will be conducted across four testing dates, each divided into two clusters to accommodate the high volume of applicants. The scheduled exam dates are January 18, February 8, February 22, and March 8.

Meanwhile, PUP’s various branch and satellite campuses nationwide have also set their own application and examination schedules. The PUP campus in Leyte will accept applicants until February 27, while campuses in Alfonso and Talisay will continue their admissions process until May.

University officials advised applicants to directly coordinate with their chosen PUP campus to confirm the exact examination dates, as schedules may still be subject to adjustments depending on logistical requirements.

Applications for PUPCET may be completed online through the “PUP iApply” portal, which can be accessed via the university’s official website. Detailed instructions and step-by-step guidelines are also available on PUP’s official social media platforms.

PUP has long been known for producing graduates with strong employability, making it a preferred destination for students seeking quality tertiary education under the government’s free tuition program. As demand for admission continues to grow, university officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining academic standards while expanding opportunities for deserving Filipino students.
