Only ‘G’, ‘PG’ movies allowed in PUVs: MTRCB

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) reminded operators and drivers Friday that only content rated “G” (General Patronage) and “PG” (Parental Guidance) is allowed to be shown inside public utility vehicles (PUVs).

The MTRCB stated Filipino families, including children, travel to the provinces for the New Year celebrations via PUVs.

According to the MTRCB, public vehicles that display motion pictures are required to follow the same regulations as movie theaters.

“Our commitment is to ensure that the content shown in PUVs is safe for all passengers, especially children traveling with their families. This is part of our larger responsibility to provide everyone a safe, secure and enjoyable travel experience,” MTRCB chairperson and chief executive officer Lala Antonio said.

Inappropriate content may negatively impact minors traveling with their families, she added.

The MTRCB has urged PUV operators to adhere to the regulations and to report violators through its social media channels @MTRCBGov or email complaints@mtrcb.gov.ph. (PNA)
