Ombudsman Remulla healthy, cancer-free — OMB

The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) on Monday assured the public that Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla is in good health and fully capable of performing his duties.

In a statement, Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano clarified that Remulla’s recent statements about his health during a television forum referred to past medical conditions.

Remulla earlier revealed that he was diagnosed with leukemia after undergoing quintuple bypass surgery in 2023, but has since made a full recovery.

He emphasized that Remulla’s remarks were “in the past tense” and referred to his health condition before assuming office.

Remulla underwent two cycles of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, with his son serving as his donor — leading to his full recovery.
