Olivia Rodrigo’s sweet handwritten letter leaves KATSEYE’s Sophia Laforteza emotional

KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza gave fans a heartwarming glimpse into a special moment with global pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo after receiving a handwritten letter ahead of the singer’s highly anticipated all-women music festival.

The Filipino idol took to Instagram Stories to share a photo of a beautiful bouquet of flowers accompanied by a personal note from Rodrigo, who welcomed KATSEYE to the lineup of her inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival.

Addressed to KATSEYE members Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, Rodrigo’s heartfelt message praised the rising girl group for their rapid success.

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you for being a part of this festival. You guys are superstars in every sense of the word and I am honored to share this bill with you girls. Thanks again, I cannot wait to watch you guys smash it!”

Clearly touched by the gesture, Sophia kept her reaction short but meaningful, writing, “counting down the days.”

The touching exchange quickly delighted fans, especially as it brings together two artists proudly representing their Filipino roots on one of the year’s most anticipated music events.

KATSEYE is among the star-studded lineup for Daisy Chain Fields, Rodrigo’s first-ever all-women benefit music festival, which aims to raise funds for charities and non-profit organizations dedicated to empowering women and girls.

Joining the multinational girl group on the bill are acclaimed artists Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Mitski, while legendary performers Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, and Karen O are set to make special appearances.

The festival is scheduled for August 29, 2026, at Great Park in Irvine, California.

Sophia, who proudly represents the Philippines in the global girl group, debuted with KATSEYE in 2024 after emerging as one of the winners of The Debut: Dream Academy. Since then, the group has enjoyed a meteoric rise, earning Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2026, while also taking home New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards.

The group most recently teamed up with fellow HYBE acts LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT for the collaboration single “Iconic by Mistake.”

Meanwhile, Rodrigo continues to dominate the global music scene. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter recently released her latest album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” which broke streaming records by becoming the most-streamed album by a female artist in a single day.

Born in California to a Filipino father and a German-Irish mother, Rodrigo has long embraced her Filipino heritage. During her GUTS World Tour stop in Manila in 2024, she donated all ticket proceeds to Fund 4 Good, her global initiative supporting girls’ education, reproductive rights, and efforts to combat gender-based violence.

Now, with Rodrigo and Sophia sharing the same stage for a cause close to both their hearts, fans are eagerly counting down to what promises to be one of the biggest celebrations of women in music this year.
