No PSA records found for controversial ‘Piattos’ name

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) confirmed on Tuesday that it does not have any records of the name “Mary Grace Piattos” in its database.

The name “Mary Grace Piattos” has drawn attention from netizens due to its resemblance to a combination of a well-known restaurant and a popular local chip brand.

Piattos was mentioned in acknowledgment receipts provided by the Commission on Audit as part of Vice President Sara Duterte’s proof of disbursement for her confidential funds, which are currently being investigated for alleged misuse.

The PSA said that it found no trace of a “Mary Grace Piattos” in its records, including birth, marriage, or death certificates.

In addition to the infamous name “Mary Grace Piattos,” there has also been suspicion surrounding the name “Kokoy Villamin,” which appeared in disbursements related to both the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education.
