Four newly appointed members of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Board of Trustees officially reported for duty at the GSIS Head Office in Pasay City, where they met with President and General Manager Wick Veloso.

The new trustees are Garry Velasquez De Guzman, who will now represent the legal profession; Cenon Cruz Audencial Jr. and Enrico Gregorio Molina Trinidad, representing the banking, finance, investment, and insurance sectors; and Gilbert Tan Sadsad, president of the Philippine Public School Teachers Association (PPSTA), representing the education sector.

On their first day, the trustees were oriented on GSIS programs, policies, and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing member services and ensuring fund sustainability. Later, Trustee Sadsad joined Veloso and Trustee Beatriz Torno, who represents retired government workers, in a dialogue with the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) to hear the concerns and recommendations of educators across the country.

The new board members expressed their commitment to uphold the principles of transparency, prudence, and good governance in managing the pension fund. They also assured their full support for the current GSIS leadership under Veloso.

Veloso welcomed the new trustees and said their appointments signal a period of renewed cooperation and stability within the institution. “We are moving forward as one team, united by our mission to safeguard the fund and deliver Ginhawa for All,” he said.

The GSIS leadership reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining financial strength, delivering efficient and responsive services, and promoting sustainable growth for its 2.7 million members and pensioners nationwide.
