Cebu’s beaches and tourism sites appear in the Korean drama series “Boyfriend on Demand,” which is now streaming on Netflix and stars BLACKPINK member Jisoo and South Korean actor Seo In-guk.
The romantic comedy follows a young woman who signs up for a virtual dating service that allows her to experience different romantic relationships.
Parts of the series were filmed in Cebu in February 2025, showcasing some of the province’s beaches and tourism establishments.
Tourism workers and hospitality staff from the area also appeared in several scenes during the production.
The project was organized through coordination between the Department of Tourism Korea Office, the DOT Office of Film and Sports Tourism, the DOT Regional Office VII, and tourism stakeholders in Cebu.
Airport authorities and local partners also assisted in facilitating the arrival and departure of the cast and production team during filming.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the government continues to promote the country’s destinations and tourism workforce through international collaborations.
The Department of Tourism said South Korea remains the Philippines’ largest source of visitors, with more than 1.34 million arrivals recorded last year. Cebu continues to attract Korean travelers due to its beaches and diving sites, while the series “Boyfriend on Demand,” which premiered on March 6, has entered Netflix’s list of top shows in the Philippines.
