NDRRMC validates 26 deaths, 147 injured in Cebu Quake

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) is validating reports of 26 deaths and 147 injuries following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu, and nearby provinces late Tuesday night.

In its 8 a.m. situational report Wednesday, the agency said all reported casualties were from Region 7 (Central Visayas).

Classes were suspended in 46 municipalities in the region, while four towns also declared work suspension.

As of now, the NDRRMC has yet to release data on the number of affected families and the extent of damage caused by the earthquake.
