MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is strengthening coordination with government agencies and other security units ahead of the 49th ASEAN Summit in November.
As part of its preparations, the NCRPO is intensifying police visibility and security coverage along routes expected to be used by delegates and other key areas connected with the regional gathering.
Police are also enhancing intelligence gathering and information monitoring in strategic locations to identify and address potential security concerns ahead of the summit.
The NCRPO is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies, local government units and concerned government offices to ensure synchronized security operations throughout the event.
Authorities are expected to deploy personnel to major thoroughfares, hotels, meeting venues and other areas connected with summit activities, while traffic and crowd-management measures will also form part of the preparations.
The 49th ASEAN Summit is expected to bring regional leaders, senior officials and delegations to the Philippines, requiring heightened security and inter-agency coordination.
The NCRPO said its preparations are aimed at maintaining peace and order while minimizing disruptions to the public during the international gathering.
