MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has validated ownership and corporate records involving properties identified by dismissed police officer Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. in connection with his allegations against former House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and his wife, Rowena.
The development comes as the NBI continues its fact-finding investigation into Gracioso’s claims involving alleged cash deliveries and properties purportedly connected to the Velascos. The allegations remain under investigation and have not been established as fact.
NBI Director Melvin Matibag earlier confirmed that the bureau had searched properties linked to the Velascos in Valle Verde, Pasig City, under search warrants issued in August in connection with separate intelligence information involving alleged illegal high-powered firearms. Matibag said some properties were registered under employees and a company.
Gracioso, a dismissed police officer, previously alleged that he delivered cash to Vice President Sara Duterte and members of her family upon Velasco’s instructions. The PNP has confirmed that Gracioso had previously been detailed as security or staff of the former House speaker.
Velasco’s camp has denied the cash-delivery allegations. His lawyers appeared before the NBI on October 5 and said they would respond to the accusations after reviewing Gracioso’s affidavit and supporting documents.
The NBI continues to verify Gracioso’s allegations and gather documentary evidence as part of its investigation.
