GUMACA, Quezon — During his courtesy visit in the municipality of Gumaca, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Region IV-A director Atty. Renato DM Garbo III located a site for the location of the NBI’s district office in Region IV-A with the agreement of Gumaca mayor Webster Letargo and Quezon governor Angelina Tan, who was with her husband Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region I director Ronnel Tan.

The NBI’s district office will be servicing the whole region of Calabarzon, which covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

According to Governor Tan, she fully supports the establishment of the NBI’s office because it will give to the public better accessibility to the Bureau’s much needed services, such as the issuance of clearances for employment and other legal purposes.

For his part, Garbo pointed out that the reason behind the initiative is to ensure that the services of the NBI reach the people and are easily accessible and convenient, including the investigation of crimes and delivery of justice—not only in Region IV-A but in other nearby provinces as well.

Letargo likewise gave his full support to the project, saying that the NBI will always be welcome in his town for its needs in ensuring that their presence would be a big boon to his constituents.

Meanwhile, aside from establishing its district office in Gumaca, the NBI has also decided to put up a satellite office in the town of Infanta in order to make their service available and closer to the people in this part of Quezon province and outlying areas as well.

“We are fully committed in performing our duties and responsibilities as public servants and we want to assure the public we will always give them accessible, convenient and efficient service,” Garbo enthused.
