NBI celebrates 88th anniversary

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) proudly to celebrate its 88th founding
anniversary, with the theme “NBI, Tagapagtaguyod ng Katarungan, Katuwang Tungo sa Maunlad na Bagong Pilipinas”, marking decades of dedicated service to the people.

To commemorate this significant milestone, the Bureau will kick off the celebration on November 14, 2024 with a thanksgiving mass to be followed by the formal anniversary program.

To be held at Aberdeen Court, Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City, the anniversary program, will be graced by Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, the Guest of Honor and Speaker. The latter will deliver his anniversary message as the highlight of the day’s celebration.

The successful PRAISE (Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence) awardees will also be recognized in the different categories of the best organizational unit, outstanding case and accomplishment, best employees, investigation agents and special investigators.

Service Awards will likewise be held to give recognition to NBI employees who have served the Bureau for 10 to 40 years. 

On November 15, 2024, also at Great Eastern Hotel, a Command Conference will be held, and will be attended by NBI Regional Directors, Agents-In-Charge, and Manila- based division chiefs.

To cap off the anniversary celebration, the Balik Akademya will take place, wherein investigation agents and special investigator graduates of the NBI Academy reunite to celebrate shared milestones, honor achievements, and reflect on past experiences to foster a sense of continuity and fellowship.

Finally, aimed at fostering camaraderie, team work, and healthy competition, NBI Director’s Cup 2024 will kick off on November 16-17, 2024 at the Iron Sight Shooting Range, Silang, Cavite.

This event will likewise provide an opportunity for NBI personnel to enhance their shooting skills and promote safety and discipline in handling firearms.

Throughout the 88 years of existence, the NBI has been at the forefront of investigating high-profile cases, supporting the law enforcement of the country, maintaining national security, and protecting public safety.

NBI Director Judge Jaime B. Santiago (Ret.) shared that being part of the 88th historical anniversary is more than just a milestone; it is a testament to the power of dedicated public service and the enduring trust that the people have placed in the Bureau. Santiago added that the NBI looks forward to building on this legacy, innovating, and serving the public in new ways as it continues its mission.
