Bukidnon’s Alexis Nailga extended his remarkable run in the ICTSI Junior PGT Series, capturing his third consecutive victory in the boys’ 15–18 division at Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro on Thursday.
The 16-year-old standout fired a 73 to finish with a three-day total of 221, securing a commanding seven-stroke victory.
“It’s a great feeling to score a three-peat. I now have a strong chance of making it to the national finals,” said Nailga, who previously topped the Del Monte and Mactan legs.
Nailga carded a steady 36-37 in the final round. CDO native Armand Copok surged with a three-under 69 to take runner-up honors at 228, while Mhark Fernando III of Zamboanga finished third at 229 after a round of 75.
Korean golfer Eric Jeon settled for fourth with a 76 for 230, edging Fawzi Espinosa (77) on countback after both finished at 14-over.
⛳ Gaccion Shines in Girls’ Play Local ace Ally Gaccion stole the spotlight in the girls’ division, firing an impressive six-under 66 to leave her Del Monte rivals far behind. She finished a staggering 17 shots ahead of Crista Miñoza and Zero Plete.
“My putter was really on fire, and I was hitting my approach shots close to the pin,” said the 18-year-old Gaccion. “I actually struggled with my driving, but I managed to save pars right from the first hole.”
