Actress Nadine Lustre has spoken out against a viral social media post that falsely attributed a quote to her about the so-called “mirror method” — a popularized approach that encourages people to match others’ behavior, especially in relationships.
The quote card, which was posted by a gossip-oriented social media page called “Chismis Vlog’s,” claimed Nadine had endorsed a passive-aggressive mindset, urging followers to withdraw affection from those who didn’t show it first. It read in part: “They didn’t greet you on your birthday? Don’t greet them. Didn’t invite you out? Don’t invite them. Just mirror their energy.” The post quickly spread across platforms, complete with Nadine’s photo and name.
But the actress, known for her candid and self-aware online presence, was quick to set the record straight.
“Pretty sure I didn’t say that,” Nadine wrote on her official Facebook page, reposting the quote card with a tone of both disbelief and amusement. In a follow-up comment, she poked fun at the frequency of fake posts tied to her: “These gossip blogs really just post anything… might claim I’m pregnant again by Q4.”

She also made light of the phrase itself: “I don’t even know what the ‘mirror method’ is. The only Mirror I know is the M2M song,” she joked, referencing the Norwegian pop hit from the late ’90s.
While Nadine dismissed the fake quote with humor, she eventually took a deeper, more reflective stance on the idea behind it. In a separate Facebook post, she opened up about her personal beliefs regarding how people should respond to neglect or emotional distance from others.
“I don’t believe in mirroring coldness just because someone else decided to pull away,” she said. “For me, you don’t have to match someone’s lack. It’s more important to choose to be kind, even when there’s nothing in return.”
She emphasized that true peace comes not from retaliation or withholding, but from a conscious decision to forgive, let go, and protect one’s inner peace.
“You let go not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace,” Nadine wrote. “Take care of your soul, not your ego.”
Nadine, who has long advocated for mental health and self-awareness, also reminded her followers that the universe, not individuals, keeps track of energy. “Keep choosing light. Keep choosing love. That’s where true healing lives,” she concluded.
Widely admired for her authenticity and grounded views, Nadine Lustre once again used her platform not just to debunk misinformation, but to send out a message rooted in empathy and emotional maturity — steering the conversation away from gossip and into something far more meaningful.
