CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police in Northern Mindanao have made 2,324 arrests and seized more than P38 million worth of illegal drugs in the past 100 days.
The police conducted 683 anti-drug operations, leading to the arrest of 842 and the seizure of about 5,676 grams of shabu and 1,255 grams of marijuana.
Police Regional Office in Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Director Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman said Friday that the campaign began when he took office Sept. 26, 2024 and continued until Jan. 4.
“This milestone reflects our commitment to serving and protecting the people of Northern Mindanao,” he said.
PRO-10 also conducted 44 operations against smuggling, resulting in 53 arrests and the confiscation of PHP58.6 million worth of smuggled cigarettes.
In 22 operations against illegal mining, 64 people were arrested, and PHP18.5 million worth of illegal mining equipment was confiscated.
Operations against gambling and illegal firearms were also conducted. (PNA)
