mWell, the digital health platform of Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation, is pushing deeper into preventive care with the launch of the mWell ECG Ring, the first wellness ring in the Philippines with built-in electrocardiogram monitoring.
The new device builds on the company’s initial mWell Ring, introduced in 2024, which helped broaden access to health wearables through sleep and lifestyle tracking at a lower price point. With the ECG Ring, mWell adds continuous heart monitoring to its ecosystem, positioning the product as a daily health companion rather than a specialist medical device.
Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of mWell and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, said the goal is to make preventive healthcare part of everyday life. He noted that health insights should be accessible outside clinics and hospitals, allowing users to take action earlier and more consistently.
The original mWell Ring gained traction for its sleep-tracking capabilities, measuring light, deep and REM sleep while generating a daily mWellness Score that summarizes overall health. By pricing the device within reach of more consumers, mWell helped introduce smart ring technology to a wider Philippine market.

According to mWell president and chief executive officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla, the ECG Ring extends those features with heart monitoring that integrates directly into the mWell app. Users can view ECG readings, export them as PDF files, and share results with physicians through common messaging platforms or email. Health data can also be stored in the mWell Health ID, allowing users and doctors to track changes over time and support continuity of care.
The focus on heart health reflects a pressing national concern. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority show that ischaemic heart disease remained the country’s leading cause of death in 2024. For many Filipinos, regular checkups and screenings are often difficult to fit into daily schedules, increasing the appeal of wearables that encourage routine monitoring.
Dr. Raymond Francis Sarmiento, mWell’s chief operating officer, said devices like the ECG Ring can help shift care toward prevention by making it easier to spot early warning signs. He added that consistent, low-effort monitoring could help users act before symptoms worsen.
The ECG Ring combines heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring with sleep tracking and an electrical heart sensor. It is made of titanium, features IP68 water resistance, and offers up to seven days of battery life. The device comes in a two-toned design and does not require a subscription.
Industry reviewers have noted that many smart rings sold globally are priced higher and still lack ECG capabilities. By offering ECG monitoring without recurring fees, mWell is betting that affordability will be a key differentiator in the local market.
The mWell ECG Ring is priced at P12,999 during its introductory period, with a regular price of P13,999, and is available through the mWell app and the company’s online store. Alongside the ring, mWell continues to expand its wearable lineup with smart watches that track activity, blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen levels, rounding out a portfolio aimed at making everyday health monitoring more accessible to Filipinos.
