Numerous complaints have been lodged before the Quezon City court against District 5 Congressman PM Vargas, all linked to allegations of vote buying.
Two complainants, using the aliases “Robert” and “Roland,” filed cases against the congressman for alleged violations of the Omnibus Election Code and COMELEC Resolution No. 11104.
According to alias Robert, he received a text message on April 7, 2025, informing him that financial assistance was being distributed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the AKAP (Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program) at a local covered court. However, upon arrival, he and several others were denied aid after failing to give the “correct” answer to a question about whether they were “Warriors”—a group known to be loyal supporters of Congressman Vargas.
The complainants claim that only self-identified “Warriors” were given the cash aid and submitted video evidence to the court showing what they allege was the direct distribution of P3,000 per person in exchange for political loyalty.
Robert and Roland emphasized that no political opponent or organization pushed them to come forward. Their motive, they said, was simply to expose what they believe is widespread vote buying funded by taxpayer money.
