Good news for commuters!
MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 will offer free rides during peak hours on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day.
The free rides will run from:
LRT-1:
7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
LRT-2:
7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
MRT-1:
7:00 AM to 9:00 AM
5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
“Ang libreng sakay na ito ay isang pasasalamat at paggunita sa ating kalayaan. Buong puso kaming nagpupugay sa ating mga bayani sa kanilang tapang, sakripisyo, at walang kapantay na pagmamahal sa bansa. Nawa’y lagi nating isapuso ang diwa ng kanilang kabayanihan,” said LRTA Administrator Atty. Hernando Cabrera.

Train operators remind passengers to expect larger crowds and to follow safety rules inside stations and trains.
