The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that the MRT-3 will continue its extended weekday operating hours indefinitely. This decision follows the train’s schedule extension until 11 p.m. in late March.
From March 24 to March 28, the MRT-3 served 29,530 passengers, and from March 31 to April 4, the number increased to 31,474 passengers.
To improve rush hour travel, the MRT-3 will also continue deploying additional train sets. Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon previously stated that the extension was made to better accommodate Filipinos working late hours.
