MPower, Araneta Group renew power supply deal for Araneta City properties

MPower and the Araneta Group have renewed their long-standing partnership, with the agreement now extending to include the newest addition to the group’s hotel portfolio—ibis Styles Manila Araneta City.

The ceremonial signing, held recently at the ibis Styles Araneta City, was attended by key executives from both organizations. In attendance were MPower Head of Commercial Operations Ray Fabros, Senior Assistant Vice President and Retail Sales Head Eddie John Adug, and First Vice President and Head Redel M. Domingo. Representing the Araneta Group were Novotel and ibis Styles Manila Cluster General Manager Maria Manlulu-Garcia, ACI Inc. Senior Vice President of Operations Antonio Mardo, and Senior Vice President of Business Development John Castelo.

As the local retail electricity supplier of Meralco, MPower will continue to provide reliable energy to Araneta Group’s key properties under ACI, Inc.—the business arm that manages Araneta City’s extensive retail, entertainment, residential, and office spaces. The latest agreement also includes a new supply deal with Araneta Hotels for ibis Styles Manila.

This renewed partnership marks an important milestone in the 11-year collaboration between the two companies, reinforcing their mutual dedication to operational excellence and sustainable growth.

“The Araneta Group is committed to excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Our long-time partnership with MPower secures a reliable energy supply across our multiple properties, allowing us to deliver the highest level of service to our guests,” said Maria Manlulu-Garcia, Cluster General Manager of Novotel and ibis Styles Manila.

ACI Inc. has been one of MPower’s earliest partners, dating back to the company’s launch in 2013. In 2018, MPower began supplying electricity to Araneta Hotels as well. Today, the majority of Araneta Group’s properties benefit from MPower’s flexible energy solutions offered through the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), which allows businesses with a minimum electricity demand of 500 kW to choose their energy supplier.

“The enduring partnership and trust given to us in powering Araneta City inspire MPower to continuously explore new avenues for growth and innovation, ensuring we deliver even greater value to our partners,” said MPower Head and Meralco First Vice President Redel M. Domingo.

With this renewed and expanded agreement, MPower and the Araneta Group reaffirm their shared vision to drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and business development in the heart of Quezon City.
