Despite Tropical Storm Crising moving farther away from the country, its lingering effects continue to intensify the southwest monsoon or habagat, bringing heavy rains and stormy conditions across Mega Manila on Monday.

In response to the inclement weather, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) has postponed its scheduled tripleheader at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum. The matchups were set to feature Imus versus Pangasinan, Davao Occidental against Abra, and a main event between Batangas City and Mindoro.

The league also pulled the plug on another tripleheader originally slated for Tuesday at the Ynares Center 2 in Rodriguez, Rizal.

The Tuesday lineup included a critical showdown between Rizal and Nueva Ecija, both jockeying for playoff positioning. Basilan and Quezon City were set to clash in an inter-division battle, while Sarangani, still in the hunt for a play-in spot, was scheduled to take on Batang Kankaloo, a team eyeing a Top 4 finish in the North Division.

In the MPBL format, the top four teams in each division earn homecourt advantage in the opening round of the playoffs.

League officials have yet to announce new dates for the postponed games but are expected to reschedule them before the regular season wraps up.
