More than 150k families affected by Typhoon Tino in Western Visayas 

ILOILO CITY, Panay — At least 152,514 families or 489,109 individuals, across 93 towns and cities in Western Visayas, we’re adversely affected by Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi), based on the latest report from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI in Western Visayas. 

According to DSWD officials, 76,773 families (246,535 individuals) are presently sheltered in over 3,000 evacuation centers, while 37,300 families (117,232 individuals) are temporarily staying with relatives or friends.

Due to the severity of the typhoon, DSWD immediately provided food and non-food assistance to the affected communities and prepositioned additional supplies to local government units. The agency has also set aside ₱80 million worth of relief resources for affected residents in the region.

Assessment and validation of the effects of the storm are ongoing to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of aid to families impacted by Tino across Western Visayas.
