Mober unveils largest EV charging hub in Phl

Electric vehicle (EV) logistics firm Mober launched Central Charge, the Philippines’ largest commercial EV charging facility, in Pasay City, marking a key step in the country’s efforts to promote sustainable transport.

The 3,000-square-meter facility at HK Sun Plaza, equipped with 50 seven-kilowatt DC chargers and five 60-kilowatt fast chargers, is designed to support the growing demand for green logistics in the region.

Mober founder and chief executive Dennis Ng emphasized that the hub is a critical step in positioning the Philippines at the forefront of sustainable logistics in Southeast Asia, in line with the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA).

Mober is also planning to expand with two additional hubs set to serve the north and south of the country.

“(We are) actively planning and looking for suitable 6,000 to 10,000 square meters. property to establish two additional EV charging hubs. These new facilities, which will be named Northern Volt in the north and Southern Spark in the south, will not only house logistics network but also support our expansion ambition,” Ng said.

These sites will provide essential EV charging and rental services for small trucking businesses, potentially benefiting 500,000 operators across the nation, Ng added.

The Central Charge facility can handle up to 200 EV trucks daily, ensuring efficient deliveries for clients like IKEA, Nestlé Philippines, and Maersk.

Mober aims to scale its fleet to more than 500 EVs by 2026, building on the success of its first hub, which launched in 2023 with 30 chargers. The company is also exploring solar panel integration and a 500-kWh battery energy storage system to further reduce its environmental impact.

As Southeast Asia’s largest EV delivery operator, Mober continues to lead the region in sustainable logistics.
