The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) issued a warning on Monday after receiving reports of scam text messages claiming unpaid violations under the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).

According to the MMDA, the messages falsely allege that an alert has been flagged in the Land Transportation Management System and urge recipients to settle supposed penalties within 24 hours.

The agency clarified that official NCAP notifications are sent only through designated channels and do not come from random senders or unidentified email addresses.

It stressed that legitimate NCAP advisories do not contain payment links, reply options, contact numbers, or the name of the registered vehicle owner.

Motorists were advised to avoid clicking links or buttons in suspicious messages and to verify information only through authorized government platforms.

The MMDA encouraged the public to report dubious emails or text messages through its hotline or official social media accounts for proper action.

Drivers may also independently check for possible NCAP records by visiting the agency’s official verification website, the MMDA said.
