The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced a modified operating schedule for the Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) in observance of the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays.
Commuters are advised that the ferry service will be completely suspended on Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve), Dec. 25 (Christmas Day), Dec. 30 (Rizal Day), and Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day).
On Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve), the ferry will operate on a half-day schedule. Normal ferry operations will be maintained on all other dates, including Dec. 23, 26, 27, and 28.
According to the MMDA, the temporary closures will allow for the conduct of essential maintenance activities on the ferry fleet and cleaning operations across all stations.
The Pasig River Ferry Service, which currently offers free rides to the public, remains a vital alternative transportation mode for those traveling between the cities of Pasig, Makati, Mandaluyong, and Manila. Regular operations are expected to resume in full on Jan. 2, 2026.
Commuters are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly to avoid any inconvenience during the holiday break.
