
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists to take alternate routes on Monday, July 27, due to expected heavy traffic near the House of Representatives during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address.
The agency said congestion is expected along Commonwealth Avenue, IBP Road and other major roads surrounding the Batasan Complex.
Northbound motorists traveling from Quezon Memorial Circle to Fairview may take North Avenue, turn right to Mindanao Avenue and proceed through Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway.
Southbound motorists from Fairview heading to Quezon Memorial Circle may use Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway, turn left to Mindanao Avenue and proceed to North Avenue.

Trucks coming from C-5 Road or Katipunan Avenue were advised to use the Luzon Flyover before turning right to Congressional Avenue.
Light vehicles from C-5 Road may pass through Magiting Street, Maginhawa Street, Mayaman Street and Kalayaan Avenue.
The MMDA said 1,481 personnel will be deployed to manage traffic around the Batasan Complex.
Tow trucks, ambulances, patrol units and other emergency equipment will also be prepositioned, while traffic conditions will be monitored through CCTV cameras and the agency’s command centers.
