MMDA calls for entries to photo contest vs. violence against women and children

The MMDA invites the public to join its Pitik-Kontra-Abuso photo contest in support of the campaign for the advocacy against violence against women and children. Deadline of submission of entries is on December 6.

The contest, the MMDA said on its Facebook page, “aims to raise awareness about violence against women and children through impactful photography.”

“Sa bawat pitik ng camera, may kwento.  Sa bawat kwento, may pag-asa.  Ang iyong larawan ay maaring maging boses para isulong ang karapatan ng kababaihan at bata,” the MMDA said on its Facebook page. (For every click of the camera, there is a story.  For each story, there is hope.  Your photograph may be the voice to fight for the rights of women and children.)

The contest is part of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women and children spearheaded by the Philippine Commission on Women.

Winning entries will be awarded cash prizes of P15,000 for the first place, P10,000 for the second place, and P5,000 for the third place.  Consolation prizes will also be given.

Winners will be announced on December 12, with an exhibit of winning and shortlisted entries to be held on the same day.

Those interested to join the contest must submit photos depicting actions on how to stop violence against women and children.  A description of the content and theme of the photograph must accompany the photo submitted. Entries may be emailed to GADGFPS.MMDA@Gmail.com
