Pop superstar Miley Cyrus is engaged to fellow musician Maxx Morando after four years of dating.
Sources, including People and Page Six, confirmed the news on Tuesday, December 2.
Speculation about the engagement first arose after the couple attended the global premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Monday night, where Cyrus was seen wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring in her ring finger.
Just hours after the news broke, Cyrus confirmed the happy news in an interview with People, sharing how it astounded her to be engaged at 33.
She spoke candidly about how this relationship compares to those in the past, explaining, “The detail that I can share is that for us, our privacy and keeping it small has been something that I’ve been astounded that I’ve actually been able to have and having more choice.”
She also stated that her mindset about keeping her relationships out of the spotlight has also changed with age. “I think it’s also being older, being more protective of what I’m open to sharing,” she added.
In addition, Morando’s father also confirmed the engagement after sharing photos of Cyrus posing with his son and flashing the stunning diamond ring on her left ring finger.
He also posted a close-up shot of the engagement ring, captioning the touching images with his congratulations and tagging the couple alongside a slew of emojis, including a red heart, a diamond ring, and a champagne bottle.
A New Chapter
The Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, 33, and Maxx Morando, 27, a drummer, writer, and producer for Liily, have reportedly been dating since 2021.
In an interview with British Vogue in 2023, Cyrus shared that she and Morando first connected on a blind date.
“Well, it was blind for me and not really for him,” she said. “I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.'”
The two were first seen after being photographed holding hands at Gucci’s ‘Love Parade’ fashion show in 2021. A month later, they were spotted getting cozy during commercial breaks at Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party in Miami.
Cyrus was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth from December 2018 until August 2019 and finalized the divorce in January 2020. The former couple were in an on-and-off relationship before they tied the knot in 2018. However, after only a few years of marriage the couple decided to separate and ultimately divorce.
Following the breakup, Cyrus emerged stronger and bolder, making hits nonstop, including her song ‘Flowers,’ – a powerful post-breakup anthem which became a global hit and even won a Grammy Award.
The jewelry designer of Cyrus’s engagement ring was reportedly none other than Jacquie Aiche. So far, no further details on the couple’s engagement have yet been revealed.
