Reaffirming its dedication to driving innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in the energy sector, the Meralco Power Academy (MPA), under the leadership of Manuel V. Pangilinan, is once again convening top minds from around the world for Giga Summit 2025: The Fusion of Power and Intelligence.
Following its successful debut in 2023, this year’s summit—set for April 24 to 25 at The Fifth at Rockwell in Makati City—will delve into the transformative role of artificial intelligence and nuclear energy in shaping a smarter, more resilient power sector.
Over 30 local and international experts and industry leaders will come together to share insights and spark dialogue on sustainable and forward-looking energy solutions that will support the long-term growth of the industry.
Day 1: Sustainable Power Supply
The first day of the summit will spotlight renewable energy and the strategic integration of nuclear power to meet the country’s future energy demands. Keynote presentations under the theme “Trailblazers: The Global Giants of Sustainable Power” will feature prominent players including MGEN Renewable Energy Inc. (MGreen), Electricité de France, Mitsubishi Power, and Actis.
A dedicated session titled “The Case for a Nuclear-Powered Future” will be facilitated by the International Atomic Energy Agency, while a global panel of experts from Canada, France, South Korea, Japan, and the United States will offer insights into “Nuclear Power: The Operator’s Perspective.”
Day 2: Power Grid Disruptors
The summit’s second day will explore the impact of emerging technologies on the power grid, with sessions focused on distributed energy resources, virtual power plants, and battery energy storage systems. Thought leaders from Meralco, Huawei, Microsoft, and other global energy organizations will lead discussions on crisis leadership, AI-driven grid evolution, and strategies to future-proof the Philippine energy distribution network.
The event will culminate in forward-thinking conversations about pioneering AI-powered grids and building intelligent infrastructure for tomorrow’s energy demands.
