Meralco earns Grand Stevie, bags 11 wins at Asia-Pacific Awards 2026

At the 2026 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, Meralco was recognized with a Grand Stevie, five (5) Gold, one (1) Silver, and (5)
five Bronze awards for its exceptional initiatives on sustainability, thought leadership, innovation, and social impact.

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has once again taken the spotlight on the international stage, clinching the prestigious Grand Stevie Award and 11 additional honors at the 2026 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards in Macao, China—an achievement that underscores its growing influence in sustainability, innovation, and social impact.

Leading the charge is its standout initiative, “No One Left in the Dark: How Meralco Brought 24/7 Sustainable Power to Cagbalete Island.” The campaign not only earned the highest distinction of the night but also secured two Gold Stevies, recognized for advancing clean energy access in underserved communities while telling a compelling story of inclusive development.

Meralco’s commitment to transparency and forward-thinking governance also drew acclaim, with its One Meralco Integrated Report 2024 winning a Gold Stevie for redefining corporate reporting by seamlessly integrating financial performance with sustainability and operational insights.

during the awarding ceremony on April 18 in Macao, China.

The company’s leadership bench further elevated its winning streak. Senior Vice President and Chief Audit Executive Melanie T. Oteyza was honored as Thought Leader of the Year, recognized for pushing the boundaries of internal audit and championing modern, inclusive leadership practices. Meanwhile, Chief Sustainability Officer Raymond B. Ravelo continued his remarkable run, earning his third consecutive Climate Hero of the Year award for embedding sustainability deep within the company’s strategic direction.

Meralco’s innovation drive also translated into a Silver Stevie for its “Greening the Network” program, which focuses on building a future-ready energy system through renewable integration and smarter infrastructure. Complementing these wins are five Bronze Stevies awarded to campaigns that highlight the company’s community engagement and brand storytelling—from the festive Liwanag Park 2025 to electrification initiatives in Batangas and knowledge-sharing platforms on audit and sustainability.

With more than 1,000 nominations from 29 markets, the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards celebrate the region’s most impactful organizations.
