McDonald’s turns the table back to dunking with crowd-favorite sauces and the Ebi Burger

After igniting a wave of sauce-driven creativity last year, McDonald’s Philippines is bringing back a trio that turned everyday meals into interactive food moments.

Beginning February 18, the Cheese Dunk and Chili Con Carne Dunk make their return, joined once more by the Ebi Burger, inviting customers to rediscover the joy of dipping, pairing, and personalizing their McDonald’s favorites.

The comeback is rooted in a familiar Filipino ritual: sawsawan as a shared experience rather than a side note. The two Dunks gained traction in 2025 for encouraging diners to experiment, turning burgers, fries, and other staples into new flavor combinations.

According to McDonald’s Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Ada Almendras-Lazaro, the sauces resonated because they tapped into a culture where food is meant to be played with, shared, and reimagined at the table.

The Cheese Dunk returns with its rich, savory profile designed to elevate classic menu items, while the Chili Con Carne Dunk brings a bolder option, layered with beefy depth and warm spices. Together, they offer contrasting yet complementary flavors that invite repeat dipping and creative pairings.

Completing the lineup is the Ebi Burger, a seasonal favorite often associated with Lent. Built around a crispy shrimp patty and finished with a smooth cheese sauce, it offers a lighter alternative that still delivers indulgence, especially when paired with the returning Dunks for unexpected flavor twists.

With the sauces and Ebi Burger back on the menu, McDonald’s positions the dining experience as more than a quick meal, leaning instead into moments of connection, customization, and shared enjoyment.

The Cheese Dunk, Chili Con Carne Dunk, and Ebi Burger are available nationwide via dine-in, takeout, drive-thru, and delivery through McDelivery, GrabFood, and Foodpanda. More details on current products and promotions can be found at mcdonalds.com.ph.
