Masbate Airport reopens after storm Opong repairs

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced Monday that Masbate Airport has resumed operations after undergoing repairs from damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Opong (international name Bualoi).

CAAP clarified that the resumption of flights will still depend on the discretion of airlines.

The airport sustained an estimated ₱10 million to ₱15 million in structural damage, prompting immediate clearing and safety measures. CAAP said the passenger terminal is now safe for occupancy, with hazardous debris cleared and temporary roofing installed.

Power supply and internet connectivity at the facility have also been fully restored.
