Noticeably, a a house in posh Forbes Park village, reportedly owned by erstwhile House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, has been tightly secured with its gate reinforced with an additional fence of GI (galvanized iron) sheets.

Apparently, occupants of the said house are afraid of a violent attack as the public has been agitated by the uncovering of the involvement of several members of the House of Representatives under the watch of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. (PBBM)’s cousin.

The huge house is located on McKinley Road, approximately four kilometers away from Luneta Park, where the so-called ‘Trillion Peso March’ is set to happen on Sunday, September 21, coinciding with the anniversary of the declaration of martial law by President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. in 1972.

A massive transport strike is also expected tomorrow by the Samahang Manibela Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportation (Manibela) and Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (PISTON), to protest prevalent corruption in government.

Sources from the Forbes Park Village Association revealed that Romualdez particularly owns more than one mansion in their subdivision, which is simplify mind-blowing as this is one community whose members belong to the coubtry’s plushest families and well-known public figures and personalities. Simply speaking, this is a residential community where most of the richest Filipinos live.

According to them, the Leyte 1st District congressman owns 12 houses in Forbes, although others claim that the said houses are scattered in Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village, both of which are high-end and exclusive subdivisions.

Yet, there is no confirmation on these claims, but despite this, people were abuzz online over these unbelievable rumors that have surfaced amid the ongoing investigation into the anomalies and corruption in government flood control projects and after he relinquished leadership of the Lower House.

It may be recalled that Romualdez, along with his close ally and former appropriations chairperson Elizaldy ‘Zaldy’ Co of the party-list Ako Bicol, has faced criticisms because of the controversial 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA). Opponents and budget watchdogs have described this as mishandled and among the most corrupt spending bills ever enacted.
