Marikina River raises first alarm as water level reaches 15 Meters

The local government of Marikina has raised the First Alarm for the Marikina River after the water level reached 15 meters past 1:40 AM.

The increase in water levels is attributed to heavy rainfall caused by the ongoing Southwest Monsoon. In preparation for potential flooding, authorities have alerted residents living near the river for possible evacuation.

The local government has also prepared equipment for preemptive evacuation, especially if the water level rises to 16 meters.

Currently, the water level in the Marikina River is at 13.9 meters, which is still within normal levels. City officials continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure prompt action if necessary.
