President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcomed the House Committee on Justice’s decision to reject two impeachment complaints filed against him, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters at Malacañang, Castro said Marcos appreciated that the complaints were thoroughly reviewed and that due process was observed.

“He was pleased. He said the process was followed, and that is what the President wants—to uphold due process and arrive at the truth,” Castro said in Filipino.

She added that the review clarified the allegations and helped the public understand the issues raised in the complaints.

Castro said the President encouraged those who filed the complaints to move on and focus on more constructive matters. “It’s good that they are now better informed. But the President said, ‘Let’s move forward,’ because his focus now is on the economy and on improving the lives of every Filipino,” she noted.

The Palace also rejected claims that Marcos influenced the House leadership to secure the dismissal, stressing that independent legal experts had pointed out weaknesses in the complaints.

In the first complaint, only one lawmaker voted in favor while 42 opposed, and in the second, just seven supported it while 39 rejected it, showing that both motions lacked sufficient support.

Marcos remains focused on economic development, with the Palace emphasizing that the dismissal allows the administration to concentrate on national priorities rather than political disputes.
