Marcos vows no empty legacy: Bold reforms, Real results by 2028

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is doubling down on his mission to deliver “significant and tangible” improvements in the lives of Filipinos before his term ends in 2028.

In the latest episode of his podcast released Saturday, Marcos made it clear that his administration is not here to coast. He said his legacy hinges on making a real difference for ordinary citizens—and he wants Filipinos to feel those changes every day.

“We’ve made a change for the better. This has been my guide in all the positions I’ve taken,” Marcos said. “So I absolutely insist that in 2028, when I leave this office, there are significant and tangible changes for the better and the life of a Filipino.”

As part of this push, Marcos is instituting a more aggressive and frequent government performance evaluation, now scheduled quarterly. The scope of this review has expanded beyond Cabinet officials to include government undersecretaries and department heads.

He issued a clear warning: underperformers have no place in his administration. Marcos said he will not hesitate to remove officials who fail to meet expectations.

“The worst thing that can happen is you sit in that position, serve, and when you leave—nothing has changed,” the president said in a mix of English and Filipino.

For Marcos, the goal is simple but ambitious: build a presidency defined by impact, not intention.
