Pro-Marcos vlogger Benjie Contreras has called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to endorse Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro as the administration’s presidential candidate in the 2028 elections.

Contreras highlighted Teodoro’s academic credentials, including graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines and topping the 1989 Bar Examinations. Teodoro also earned a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School and passed the New York State Bar examination.

He also cited Teodoro’s experience as a former Tarlac congressman and defense secretary from 2007 to 2009, before returning to the same Cabinet position in 2023 under the Marcos administration.

According to Contreras, Teodoro’s position on defending Philippine sovereignty and maritime rights in the West Philippine Sea is a major reason for his support.

He also referred to restrictions reportedly imposed by China against Teodoro and his wife, including travel and business-related restrictions involving China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Contreras expressed his preference for Teodoro over Vice President Sara Duterte and former Vice President Leni Robredo, criticizing their respective political positions.

“Rather than Sara Duterte, whom I consider a puppet of China, or Leni Robredo, whom I associate with the Kakampink and Dilawan groups, I would choose Gibo Teodoro,” Contreras said.

The statements reflect Contreras’ personal political preference. No official endorsement by President Marcos or announcement of Teodoro’s presidential candidacy was indicated.
