Public satisfaction with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. improved in the second quarter of 2025, with gains recorded across all major regions and most demographics, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released Tuesday.
The June 25–29 poll found that 46% of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Marcos’ performance, 36% dissatisfied, and 19% undecided, resulting in a net satisfaction score of “moderate” +10. This is a 20-point jump from April’s “poor” -10, reversing three straight quarters of decline.
Satisfaction rose in all regions, led by Mindanao, which climbed by 35 points from “bad” -44 to “neutral” -9. Balance Luzon gained 21 points (from +7 to +28), Visayas rose 9 points (from -11 to -2), and Metro Manila improved slightly by 7 points (from -6 to +1).
By location, urban areas saw a 27-point jump (from -14 to +13), while rural areas rose 11 points (from -4 to +7). Net satisfaction also increased by 19 points among men (to +11) and 21 points among women (to +10).
By age, the highest ratings came from Filipinos aged 55 and above, who gave Marcos a “very good” +32, up from +9. Younger Filipinos, however, remained more critical, with those aged 18–24 posting the lowest score at “poor” -18, nearly unchanged from -19 in April.
By education, satisfaction was strongest among non-elementary graduates at “good” +34, while the lowest came from college graduates at “poor” -13. Still, all education groups showed improvement compared to the previous quarter.
The survey, non-commissioned, used face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide. It has a ±3% margin of error nationally and ±6% for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
